About us

Here at Our Dyslexic Connection, we hope to connect people. To connect people who have dyslexia, and their families, to professionals and to each other. We want this to be a safe place where people can share their stories, their achievements, their wishes, their hardships and their journey. I’m Phillip Ruddock. I’m severely dyslexic myself and I have been working with dyslexic people for eleven years. It’s been an interesting time which has taught me a lot about myself but also about people.  The subject of dyslexia seems to be present in every aspect of my life and because of that, and my own dyslexia, I have achieved much, failed brilliantly and like many dyslexics I’ve kept on moving forward and now my dyslexic journey has allowed me to create this website. My aim for this website is to allow everyone that finds themselves here to feel a little less alone by hearing the voices of people, from across the world, tell their stories – both the good and the bad. Yet more importantly, I want people to share what they have learned about being dyslexic, from personal experience or from supporting or working with people with dyslexia. I hope that people feel comfortable enough to share their stories and that we find a common sense of self by doing so – creating a community of people all walking different paths but taking the same journey. If you would like to share your story, and I hope that you do, please go to ‘Submit your Story’ to find how you can do this. If you feel like you’re in need of some inspiration or guidance, there are also some questions you could answer. If, however, you don’t want to use them, just let your story unfold. I look forward to you joining us in Our Dyslexic Connection.
